Relevant Financial Services Experience
- Implemented crisis communications programs for some of the nation’s largest mutual fund companies and investment banks when they had been targeted by the SEC and other regulatory entities. Represented the independent trustees of mutual funds in such matters.
- Designed a highly successful media relations campaign for one of the world’s largest investable hedge fund indexes and recently provided communications for two of the industry’s most prominent events for hedge fund managers and media.
- Worked with a start-up online brokerage to publicize the launch of its trading services, employing multiple story angles to attract coverage, including a focus on its seasoned management team and pedigreed investors, the unique tools and features developed for clients and its low-fee marketing strategy.
- Assisted a major asset management company in the wake of a legal settlement related to mutual fund market-timing issues with communications that emphasized the firm’s leadership in setting new standards for the industry.
- Raised awareness of a leading investment management company’s strong performance by reversing a legacy of reactive media relations to implement a campaign focused on educating the media about the firm’s improved performance and generating consistent coverage of successful products.
- Helped a leading provider of healthcare banking services raise awareness of its capabilities among hospitals and health plans through a survey of industry executives that identified issues with insurance claims billing and payment processes.
- Served as communications counsel in a series of acquisitions and divestitures by a global financial institution, implementing a comprehensive program of internal and external communications and working with in-house staff to shape media outreach.
- Worked with an investment management consulting firm to publicize the results of a global survey it commissioned on asset managers’ outlook for growth prospects, helping to showcase the firm’s industry expertise.
- Raised awareness of the expertise of a global bank’s research analysts and investment bankers among institutional investors through a combination of opportunistic commentary on breaking news, pitching of analysts based on industry reports, coverage of investor conferences and arranged media tours.
- Publicized new exchange-traded funds (ETF) for one of the world’s largest developers of ETF products.
- Represented some of the largest insurance companies in North America in connection with product launches, acquisitions and divestitures and demutualizations.
- Represented leading financial institutions in connection with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) matters.

- Publicized a leading mutual fund service provider’s new operations center through a welfare-to-work program developed in connection with a re-launched facility opening.
